We just built this Prince up and man is it sweet! Campy Record 11s, Fulcrum Racing 1 Wheels and some Ritchey WCS trim brought this puppy in at right around 15 lbs. If you want a hot Euro bike look no further!

This one is priced right at $10, 000 but they still have a variety of colors and sizes of the 2008 models left which are priced $1500 less than the 2009 paint jobs. For instance, a 2008 Prince we just built up with Dura Ace 7900, Mavic Ksyrium Premium wheels and Ritchey WCS Carbon parts was right around $8,500.

Swing by the shop and bring a flat to fix and you to can learn to be a independent flat fixin' cyclist. Plus you won't ever have to bring your bike in for a simple flat fix again!

Saturday Ride cancelled 5/30/09

Due to the current downpour coupled with thunder and lightning, the Saturday morning ride will not take place today. We're all for getting some hours in on the bike, but not when it means potentially endangering our customers. Hopefully, this tempermental spring weather will simmer down by next week and we can get some miles in. Hope to see you all then and don't forget the Monday night women's only ride!

First Monday night women's ride

Yesterday was the first of our Monday night women's group rides and it was a success! We had a great time starting with a warm up lap through Forest Park and continuing on to ride through Clayton and University City. It is a good beginner to intermediate, relaxed, no drop ride or an opportunity to spin your legs out after racing over the weekend and to get ready for Tuesday night races. Plan on around two hours of riding starting at 6pm every Monday night. All women are welcome. Also, don't forget about Saturday mornings at 7:30! All are invited to join us for a two hour ride that leaves from Mesa.

If you've been to Mesa Cycles any time in the last couple weeks, it's probably hard not to notice that things are a little, well, different. We're going through a major face lift here at the shop and things have been a little chaotic in the mean time. It will all be worth it in a couple short weeks when a new, slick and clean Mesa will emerge from the debris. We are open during the construction and we sincerely appreciate all the patience during our overhaul. We are happy to help you with any of your cycling needs during this time and we hope that you all come by to check out our progress and see the finished product in a couple weeks when it's all over. Hard to believe but year five is upon us. We've made some changes for this year that should really make the event even better. We're pleased to announce that we'll be utilizing UltraMax Events chip-timing and finish-line services for the scoring. We are adding a 6 Hour Men's and Womens Solo race and a new Beginner race (Burnin' Virgins). For prizes, 1st place teams and solo riders will receive a stainless steel and copper belt buckles. There is $600 in cash prizes as well for the 12 Hour Solo Men and the Wicked Fast Team category. ($150/$100/$50) in each of those categories. They're still be plenty of good schwag all around as well.

Just in: Pabst Blue Ribbon is the secondary sponsor for this year's Burnin'. What does that mean for you? Free beer? God yes! But wait! There's more... PBR is adding cash payouts for fastest lap!

Specialized Roubaix at Paris-Roubaix

This weekend, pro cyclists converged on the Napoleonic cobbled farm tracks of northern France for a little race called Paris-Roubaix. At 160 miles, 31 of which are cobbled, Specialized sponsored teams were looking for a lightning fast rig that could take the edge off the cobbles, handle the rugged roads predictably and deliver them to the finish line. For just such an occasion, Specialized provided the riders of Quick Step and Gerolsteiner with the S-Works Roubaix SL. The teams did the race and the bike proud utilizing the industry leading lateral and torsional stiffness of the frame coupled with unparalleled vertical compliance to post some phenomenal results. Tube Recycling Available At Mesa

Don't throw away your old tubes! Recycle them! If your local recycling service does not accept your tubes (or if you do not have an availiable recycling service) we urge you to bring your old, used, patched, etc. tubes to us and we will recycle them for you! C'mon man, don't send that stuff to the landfill. The one across the river is already larger than Cahokia Mounds!

Watch out for the orange crush at the Webster Crit this weekend! The juniors will be out in force and there will be a couple new Cat III's in the field who just arrived from Mexico and Columbia... Russ has been rampin up the training hrs for Nationals and started doing some sprint work, so get out there and watch him un-cork it. Good luck!
